**Blacksmith**: This is, without question, the most important class to have. **Step 2.5: A few words about classes that I'm putting here because it's convenient:** Overall, there are probably few cases where another path wouldn't be better than this one. Finally, the pets that evolve from loot in this dungeon mostly eitehr requier lery large numbers of drops, or such trivially small numbers that you might already have them before you're even able to run this dungeon, rendering it a bit pointless to aim for. But if that's what you want, you might be better off in the Forest, which also featuers a similar event.but that event requires food, which you might or might not have. ![]() If you're more intersted in pet growth than dungeons, and happen to have two wind pets, there is an event that will give a little extra pet growth to your party from time to time. However, if you have a blacksmith there is also an event that gives dungeon loot, much like the Water Temple, but there is only such event not two, so gains will likely be much less here. In practice, this means eitehr throwing a lot of pet stones at this or simply accepting the slower rate of loot gain. This dungeon featuers a random event that "delays" battles unless you continually throw flying boots at it, reducing your overall loot. * **(Fire/Wind, target: Mountain)**: This path is very mixed. However, nothing is stopping you from turning pets _without_ a bonus into a rogue, and the actual bonus is very small, especially when compared to the amount of extra loot you would get from passign Water temple events if you can. The primary advantage this path offers is that it is the easiest way to get a pet with a rogue bonus, which increases item drop rates. Don't even attempt this path as your first choice unless you have three fire pets you're willing to use. * **(Fire/Water, target: Volcano)**: This is the _hardest_ choice, with some nasty events that will do large amounts of damage if you can't mitigate them. As a side benefit, if you have an abundance of pet food, there is an event in this dungeon which will convert it into pet growth. Especially if you have few pets overall, this elemental pair will be easiest to build a coherent team with, with four of your pets requiring nothing more than having defeated P Baal 5. Probably the best choice for players who aren't relatively late-game. Gives access to at least 4 and potentially 5 easily upgradable pets. * **(Earth/Wind, target: Forest)**: This is the _easiest_ path. So be sure to have a replacement pet ready. However, note that once you have a blacksmith you'll generally want to start smithing gear, and you can't do that while in a dungeon. If you only have one of the two, this path might still be worthwhile. If you have both, this is extremely lucrative. One event requires 3 water pets, the other requires a blacksmith. The key here is that the Water Temple has two random events that both drop dungeon materials, which may often be second tier. Ideally, Hermit Crab, as he is both the only water pet that is easy to evolve, and he provdes a blacksmithing bonus. This requires that you have at least 3 water pets, and that you convert one of them into a blacksmith. * **(Earth/Water, target: Water Temple)**: This is the _best_ path, but only if you can pull it off. In each case, once you advance to the elemental dungeons one element of each listed pair will reduce the damage you take and the other will increase the damage you deliver, to the specific elemental type at the target dungeon. In general, aim for 3 pets of each element, plus or minus 1. **Step 1: Choose a pair of elements based on which higher tier dungeon you want to go to first**Ĭhoose a pair of elements to build your party out of, based on the pets you have avaialble. * Should probably add more disussion of equipment Seriously consider using these pet in dungeons. And frog is a water pet, which is otherwise somewhat rare. Easy evolutions, and no campaign bonuses. ![]() This guide has not yet been updated to include them, but at the moment, Bee and Frog look like good candidates for dungeon pets. The June 28 update introduces four new pets. * Feb 11: Reprioritized elemental path choices based on loot potential Added more detailed pet descriptions (unfinished) * Jan 22: clarified top/back row mechanics and motivations for elemental tanking. * Jan 21: added pet stone purchase priority list and brief mention of how to blacksmith iron gear without an alchemist in step 8 **Warning, this guide below is seriously outdated and wrong in a lot of places please go to the wiki for a better and more up to date guide: **
